coronavirus update - news about employee testing

Dear clients,

Regarding the loosening of restrictions with the improved coronavirus situation in recent days, we would like to inform you of an important fact from our point of view for employers - By an extraordinary measure, effective as of today (24 May 2021, full text available here), the "time intervals" for applying the exemption from mandatory testing for employees (i.e. the conditions under which employees do not have to be tested at the employer's request) have been changed as follows:

Exceptions to testing at the request of the employer apply to employees:

  1. who have undergone COVID-19 disease and have not passed more than 180 days since a positive PCR or POC test;
  2. who are vaccinated:
  • with the first dose in the case of a two-dose schedule and at least 22 days but not more than 90 days have elapsed since the first dose;
  • with a second dose in the case of a two-dose schedule and at least 22 days but not more than 9 months have elapsed since the first dose;
  • in the case of a single dose schedule and at least 14 days but not more than 9 months have elapsed since this vaccination.

Also, testing of these employees is not reimbursed by health insurance companies, i.e. it may be recommended that the employer informs its employees that if any of the above conditions are met (or if they have been tested at an AOC centre in the past 3 days), then they are obliged to inform their employer. We will of course be happy to help you prepare the notification.

In case of any questions about the above, we of course remain available to you.
