Please find below a summary of the latest measures adopted by the Czech Government in connection with the coronavirus.

Among other things, the Government has decided to change the conditions for free movement of persons, returns and entry into the territory of the Czech Republic and to change the schedule of the release of business and other activities.

LIFTING THE PROHIBITION OF FREE MOVEMENT OF PERSONS

With effect from Friday 24 April 2020 (00:00 a.m.) the conditions for movements and stays of persons in public are changed.

The Government has lifted the prohibition of free movement of persons in public. Until now people could theoretically only go to work, shops, or a doctor, now these restrictions are lifted. However, it is still necessary to observe safety measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

With effect from Monday 27 April 2020 (00:00 a.m.) the conditions for returns and entry into the territory of the Czech Republic are changed.

Lifting of the ban also applies to cross-border travel, including for holiday purposes. The Government has extended the range of foreigners who can enter the territory of the Czech Republic under specific conditions.

Among other things, EU citizens shall now be able to entry for the purposes of economic activity, if they prove their reason for the entry and submit a confirmation of their negative test for coronavirus not older than 4 days.

Similarly, when returning to the territory of the the Czech Republic, the citizens and foreigners with the right to stay on our territory shall either have to submit a confirmation of their negative test for coronavirus (not older than 4 days) or spend 14 days in quarantine.

Carrying out of the test shall be arranged by themselves and at their own expense.

Cross-border workers (so-called commuters) shall be generally able to cross the borders every day if they submit a confirmation of their negative test for coronavirus not older than 4 days always in 14 days. The obligation to travel in 14-day cycles is therefore lifted.

RELEASE OF BUSINESS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Pursuant to the latest adopted measures, business and other activities shall be released earlier. Please find below a schedule for the release of individual activities.

MONDAY 20 April 2020

• specific crafts establishments

• farmers‘ markets and other outdoor markets and marketplaces

• car bazaars and car showrooms

• outdoor training activities of professional athletes in small groups (under specified conditions)

• weddings (up to 10 persons, under specified conditions)

FRIDAY 24 April 2020

• church services (up to 15 persons, under specified conditions)

• meeting of a body of the association or another association meeting (up to 10 persons, under specified conditions)

MONDAY 27 April 2020

• establishments up to 2.500 m2 including tourist centers, unless situated in shopping centers over 5.000 m2 (it does not apply to establishments that shall be opened in the next stages)

• driving shools

• gyms and fitness centers without the use of facilities (showers, changing rooms)

• libraries

• zoological, botanical and dendrological gardens (outdoor areas)

MONDAY 11 May 2020

• all establishments in shopping centers (in the event of a positive epidemiological situation and specific hygiene conditions)

• establishments over 2.500 m2 not situated in shopping centers

• restaurants, pubs, buffets, cafes, wine shops, beer shops with sale through the dispensing window and within the outdoor (summer) gardens

• barbers and hairdressers, pedicures, manicures, solariums, cosmetics, massages, regeneration or reconditioning services

• museums, galleries, exhibition halls

• castles, open-air museums (outdoor areas)

• outdoor training activities of professional athletes excluding the public

MONDAY 25 May 2020

• restaurants, pubs, buffets, cafes, wine shops, beer shops – indoors

• hotels, outdoor campsites and other accommodation facilities (including their restaurants and cafes)

• taxi services (not yet allowed)

• tattoo and piercing services

• theaters, castles and other cultural activities (under specified conditions)

• cultural, social, sport events (the number of persons shall be specified)

• convalescence events etc. for children under 15 years of age

• zoological, botanical and dendrological gardens (including indoors)

• weddings (under specified conditions)

JUNE 2020

Other activities shall be released during June according to the current epidemiological situation.
